We sure have been having fun at the pumpkin patch! Noah is having a ball getting out there and talking to all the Roper Pumpkin Patch patrons! He was having a swell time last week playing with my camera and taking pics. I'm so proud...

Happy Autumn

Homegrown pumpkins anyone? My relatives have a great pumpkin patch that they started this year. They've got LOADS of pumpkins, decorative gourds, squash, melons, maters, peppers. (about 18 acres I think) I even got to get down and dirty and help out in the fields a bit! Super fun! I can't wait to carve some crazy stuff into those guys...and I'm gettin some PIE pumkins, too! I see lots of pumkin pies, loaves, and muffins in my (and your!) future!

I Heart Yarn!

It's true...I LOVE YARN!!!! I love to walk through hobby and craft stores, looking at all the beautiful colors and textures and imagine what I would make with all of it. This is, of course, assuming I had more that 1 hour a day that belonged to me and no one else. Besides, I know all of 3 stitches between knitting and crocheting. But I was reading a new favorite blog of mine by CJ Arabia (http://www.lemondrop.com/2009/06/19/taking-up-knitting-where-my-mom-left-off/) and in a round about way discovered this stitch and decided to learn it. It's called Tunisian crochet. Now I have 4 stitches in my yarn spinning arsenal!! And I have some more options to use up the million and one skeins of yarn over taking my closets. (Better make that million and EIGHT since I bought even more yarn while getting the afghan hook needed for this beautiful stitch...I said I loved yarn, didn't I?) This particular project is going to be a scarf for my mom. Hope she likes it!

Who you calling a nerd?!

My mom found these in with some of my dad's old stuff...ah the 70's! haha!

Parenthood is NOT for sissies...

After a great late afternoon outing at Thursdays on 1st, a local outdoor market for regional artists and restaurants and such, we get home to discover that Noah has apparently left his manners and "listening ears" on 1st St:

I told him if he jumped off the chair one more time he would lose his movie privilege tonight...tonight we are watching NO movies.

I told him that if he threw his lego spaceship across the room, he would go straight to bed...the spaceship went flying and Noah took off like a torpedo. When I finally caught the little tornado, he thanked me with a nice, hard stomp on my bare foot with his tennis shoe clad foot.

Ah, parenthood...

HMMMM....

Ha! I can't tell if he's trying to be a pirate or Bret Michaels!!

These boots are made for walking...

or standing still like a silly statue!
